The Program

The 4 Pillar Monthly Program.

For patients who want to work with Dr. Bastian over time — not session by session.

01 · Why a Program

Most of what this medicine treats takes longer than one session.

Acupuncture can do something in a single session. Chronic patterns — the pain that returns, the sleep that never fully consolidates, the digestion that resists protocol after protocol — respond to consistency rather than intensity. The 4 Pillar Monthly Program exists for those patterns.

Members work with Dr. Bastian on a defined monthly cadence, with a structured combination of four modalities chosen from the practice. The point is not to see more of the patient. The point is to give the medicine a timeline long enough to work.

02 · The Pillars

Four modalities, integrated into one monthly plan.

Pillar I

Acupuncture

The clinical foundation. Scheduled regularly enough that the practitioner gets to know the patient's pulse and presentation, not just their current complaint.

Pillar II

Somatic work

Hands-on release of the tension patterns the acupuncture reveals. Timed inside or alongside the needle sessions.

Pillar III

Breathwork

A structured breath protocol chosen for the patient's pattern — sympathetic-dominant, freeze-pattern, grief-held, or recovery.

Pillar IV

Herbal formulas

Formulas prescribed by Bill and fulfilled through the Fullscript dispensary. Formulas are adjusted monthly based on how the patient is responding.

03 · Membership

A typical month.

Term & commitment

04 · Indications

The program is designed for patients working with:

  • Chronic pain that has not resolved with single-modality treatment
  • Perimenopause and menopause symptoms that respond to ongoing endocrine and herbal work
  • Long-term stress patterns, burnout, and nervous-system depletion
  • Sleep disorders, including patterns that resist behavioral and medical intervention
  • Digestive conditions that respond to ongoing dietary and herbal recalibration
  • Post-illness recovery (long-Covid, post-surgical, post-intensive medical treatment)
  • Preventive work — patients in a stable state who want to stay there

The program is not intended for acute injuries or first-time acupuncture patients. Those are better served by a single session, or a short course of sessions, before considering the program.

05 · Next Steps

Three steps.

  1. A fifteen-minute call with Bill. Free. A short conversation to talk through what you are working with and whether the program structure makes sense for it.
  2. An intake session. A standard first visit — full intake, pulse and tongue diagnosis, first treatment, and a candid read on whether the program is the right container.
  3. Enrollment. If both sides agree the program is a fit, Bill designs the monthly plan for the first quarter.

The program is not a subscription you click into. It begins with a conversation.
